Cardamom also boasts numerous health benefits, including antioxidant and diuretic properties that may help lower blood pressure. It has been used for centuries both in cooking and as a medicine. Studies conducted on individuals with stage 1 hypertension show that cardamom proved effective in reducing high blood pressure. In another study, 83 people with type 2 diabetes took a 3 g cardamom supplement daily for 10 weeks. According to the results, cardamom reduced participants’ hemoglobin A1c. An 8 week study from 2017, cardamon supplementation reduce CRP, (a marker for inflammation) for 40 women prediabetes.
