Red clover acts as an antibiotic, appetite suppressant, blood purifier and relaxant. It is good for bacterial infections, HIV and AIDS, inflamed lungs, inflammatory bowel disorders, kidney problems, liver diseases, skin disorders, and weakened immune system. Helps fight infections and hormonal imbalances. Some study results showed that red clover reduced menopause symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats. Researchers have found that isoflavones in red clover seem to help stop cancer cells from multiplying or growing and also might be able to induce apoptosis (self-destruction of cancer cells). The types of cancer most likely impacted are prostate, breast and endometrial cancer.
